New York Business Spotlight: Prohibition Distillery

Bootlegger 21 is named for the 21st Amendment that repealed the ban on alcohol in 1933. While John Walsh and Brian Facquet run an operation far from the bathtub distilleries of the 1920's --their shiny, oversized distillery operates out of a pristinely renovated firehouse in Roscoe, NY-- their company, Prohibition Distillery, holds true to the spirit of love for booze of that era.

We recently had the pleasure of stopping in for Prohibition Distillery's open tasting room and tour hours. While no one in our group had ever been a fan of vodka, we can genuinely say that their (gluten free, 100% American corn grain, 80 proof) Bootlegger 21 was THE SMOOTHEST vodka any of us had ever tasted. So smooth, in fact, that after sipping it straight up, no chaser, we all bought bottles of it to take home.

Bootlegger 21 can be found at several distributors around the US as well as many bars and liquor stores around NYC.

If you happen to be in the Roscoe area (west Catskills), we highly recommend making a stop at their beautiful distillery. Their tasting room and tour hours are Thurs - Mon, noon to 6pm.
