Stream the Great Gatsby Soundtrack on NPR

We are counting down the days until the Great Gatsby premieres this coming Friday. The movie that
ABCNews.com
seems like it will never arrive WILL finally be shown in theaters and we think it will live up to the hype.

In preparation for the Great Gatsby release, head on over to the NPR website to stream the soundtrack. And drink a Sidecar or other prohibition-era cocktail to accompany the sounds of Jay-Z and Lana Del Rey.

Shoe Gaze All Day With This Irish Electro-Pop Band

Young Wonder released a couple of singles in 2012 (see the strange video, complete with interpretive dance, for To You).

This song was apparently used on the ASOS shopping site. Who knew?

They later released an EP that is picking up some steam now on the blog circuit—maybe because of ASOS?

And now there is the newly-minted (as of a couple of hours ago) Show Your Teeth. If you need to fulfill your daily electro/synth pop quota and have already listened to Blood Orange and Knife, hit play below and discover this band.

Simultaneously lush and cacophonous, Show Your Teeth will get you ready for walking in the beautiful sunshine that New York is experiencing this week, hopefully in a new cut out dress or shirt.

Listen to the album here:

Current Trend: Cutouts (runway inspiration)

(kenzo, rachel comey, carven)

Current Trend: Cutouts (in stores)

a good way to ease into this trend, if you're a little more reserved, is to keep the rest of the outfit simple; black in classic silhouettes.
(diane von furstenburg, saks fifth avenue $465; elizabeth and james, neiman marcus $395;  stella mccartney, saks fifth avenue $1040)

If you're feeling a little bit more bold, these styles with clean lines and bold colors are a great way to go (and you can still up the ante with a great purse or shoes!)
(opening ceremony, saks fifth avenue $460; french connection, bloomingdale's $228; herve leger, neiman marcus $1490)

This last group is really the epitome of the trend, with strong prints
(rachel roy, bloomingdale's; parker, saks fifth avenue $253; mara hoffman, saks fifth avenue, $242)

Welcome to The Drift

Thank you for visiting our website! After much discussion, searching and brainstorming/dreaming, we are excited to launch The Drift!

We spend a lot of time in real life and online searching for and noticing trends in fashion, music, pop culture, food and local events in New York City. But, even with so many sites out there, we couldn't find what we really wanted; a one-stop place to see what's new, what's coming up and what's cool right now in Brooklyn, New York City, and beyond.

With all of this in mind, we started The Drift, a place to find what's cool now, what to watch out for in the upcoming seasons and what to do in our beautiful city. We'll feature ourselves, the girls of The Drift, from time to time, as well as our amazing friends who inspire us daily.

And for all of you online-shopping lovers, we are starting Shop the Drift this summer! After years of finding the coolest, most unique businesses, products, and items in our beloved city, we've decided to share some of our carefully curated favorites with the rest of the world. Check back later this summer for updates on Shop the Drift.

So... Add us. Follow us. Love us. Tell us what you want to know about. Live with us in this crazy, grand city and experience all it has to offer.

Until then,

Allison and Jenn, the Girls at The Drift
