Best Looks from the 2014 Golden Globes Red Carpet

There were so many incredible gowns on tonight's red carpet, that it was tough picking our faves. We ended up picking fifteen looks we felt were either new/fresh ideas OR were such great/flattering choices for the ladies wearing them that they had to be included on the list.

Allison Williams: This dress does a great job of showcasing interesting detail while keeping things simple at the bottom for an overall elegant and classy effect. Sometimes cutouts and can feel cheesy or trashy, and this dress is neither of these things. Another great example of this was Amy Poehler's pre-show black dress.

Amy Adams: She mastered the 70's extreme-plunge-v and stuck with it. Not everyone can pull of this look, but with her posture and attitude it really works for her. Keeping things clean with hair, makeup, and accessories was really key to keeping this look in the realm of classy. A "clashy" pairing of maroon and red updates this look to keep it in 2014.

Emma Watson: This simple-at-first-glance gown is right on trend for 2014, and pairing it with an unexpected pair of peek-a-boo trousers is sheer genius. We love the opposite-sides-of-the-color-wheel blue shoes she chose as well. A+

Jennifer Lawrence: This was a tough pick. While we love us some Dior and J-Law, this particular choice resembles a grey broom more than a red carpet gown... However, the adage "she could wow in a paper sack" really rings true here -- she does such a great job of pulling this off and it is so different that we're still including it as a fave.

Julia Roberts: Oh Julia. This dress resembles something our mothers would have told us to do as a last-minute compromise of fun and modesty. We like to think (and really hope) she chose this as a cheeky "i don't give a f***" dress, and in that case, we actually really love it.

Julianna Margulies: THIS DRESS. Wow, we're just speechless. It's absolute perfection in every way. The overall fabrication of this classic dress is simple but hi-end, with just the right amount of interest to keep it updated and modern. And the fit. Incredible.

Julie Bowen: While the fit might be a little off (read: tight) in the chest area, the rest of this dress is really awesome. We love the slightly clashy color blocking of red and purple, and the velvet capped sleeves give it a bit of Disney-esque whimsy.

Kaley Cuoco: This dress doesn't wow as much as it could have if she had pulled her hair back (or hey, maybe even just washed it -- is it just us, or does it look a little greasy?) But we're suckers for printed gowns, and so favorite it is.
