Trend Forecast: White Hot (Summer 2014)

While we've seen lots of white for summers past, the 2014 version of the trend stands out in its simplicity. We're not seeing the statement jewelry, bold shoes, or colorful accessories that played off this blank slate in the past, and instead, we're seeing a focus on the silhouettes and fabrications (fabric textures.)

For the most part, this trend is fabricated in soft wovens with either slight draping or loose fits, bringing to mind soft bed linens. We're not seeing much jersey, but even the most structured jackets are paired with loose, flowing pants, adding to the soft, clean, and summery feel.

While these images came from the Spring/Summer 2013 RTW shows, we expect this trend to reach full peak next summer.
